Have spent this afternoon writing up my log from yesterday's chase across eastern portions of the state, so have uploaded it, as well as a few data files to the archive. Updated respective pages to include links to those, as well as the archives from the May 18th event across the Northern Plains. Updated the "most recent events" portion on the Event Listings on the Archive page and updated the "Recent Events / Chases" portion to each page on the site. A little cumbersome, but it's all completed! Work also continues on the National Weather-Cam Network. I've been approved to work on the network on my office shifts at work this week, so stay tuned. Additional states will be started and completed, I hope!

Not much really to cover tonight, but did make a minor change on the Extensions page early this morning. I have decided to rid of my WeatherBlog, so I removed the link to the blog and replaced it with a link to my MySpace profile. In other news, however, a new template (created entirely by me!) has been implemented over on the PhotoBlog. I made a change to the blog's title and with the new template, it is now matched up quite well with the layout of the Mhartman-wx.com website. Any updates on the WCN? Nothing of recent, however, I have completed (mostly) plotting cams for Nebraska. I still need to go through a few cams there, to locate and plot, in addition to editting and plotting a few here in North Dakota. I'll have some time off work here soon, so I'm planning on completing another state or two soon! Keep checking it out - more and more cams will be appearing in the future! My "dinner" is getting cold, so more later!

Just to mention a few things I've updated early this morning... I updated the chase equipment list to include the Minnesota Delorme I received as a Christmas gift this year - I hadn't done so yet! I made a very minor ordering issue with the Forecast Tools, by moving the "Weather Conversion Tools" down the list so that it agreed with the alphabetic order I had initially listed there. And also, uploaded an updated list of complete songs to the Miscellaneous section to the site. Otherwise, no other major changes to the site itself early this morning. I have, however, taken the last 2-3 hours and re-designed the layout of the National Weather-Cam Network. Hopefully, the new layout will go over much better and that it will make it much easier to manuever around the network. I've also added an splash/intro page and I'm not sure if I'll keep this active or not. If you visit the WCN and find that it's a nuisance, certainly let me know and I can very easily rid of it. Check it out, if/when you have some extra time folks! It's still a major work in progress, but it will come together slowly, but surely. I now have someone who is helping with locating cams and acquiring lat/lon coordinates, so maybe things will come together a little quicker! Enjoy! webcams.mhartman-wx.com

I forgot to note in here last week that I made a few minor edits to the Contact page, on September 30th, as noted there. In attempt to limit a recent barrage of SPAM to my E-mail accounts, I editted the E-mail addresses listed on the page to include (at) rather than @. I'm hoping this helps. If not, I may decide to later remove the anchor tag /a href=""/ to each respective E-mail address. In other updates, I have also editted the "Miscellaneous" page linked from the "About Mwx" section. I hadn't included the script on this page so that the links opened in the 800x600 window as described below. It should be working properly later this
afternoon. I have also made a few changes on my resume. I changed the E-mail address included on the page, as well, similarly to how I editted those on the Contacts page and changed the background to the lighter colored background. I also noticed the link I provided to the Van Wert, OH tornadic event on my resume was broken. IWX apparently moved the event page so I fixed the link so that it directs to the correct location.

After browsing around on the Internet some this morning, I managed to find a script that will behave much better for all pop-up windows throughout the site. I've been spending some time this afternoon implementing this and with the conclusion of this page, I should have all pages formatted with the new script. You should notice that all pop-ups should now open up as 800x600 windows. The old script was set to this, as well, however would not on most occasions and would behave according to the browser being used. The script I am using now is standard-compliant so it should behave the same across all platforms and all browsers. I had to go through and format links that open in separate windows manually, so if you run across any that don't open properly, please let me know. I have also reformatted the radar and satellite loop pages for 04/20/04, 11/05/05, and 06/05/06 from the Event Archives so that they are consistent with the rest of the web-site's color scheme Most, if not, all pages should now be formatted for the site!

Worked on getting forecast tools and chase logs formatted this afternoon. All chase logs are now consistent with a white background and formatted them, as well, with table entries for mileage, time elapsed, and such. Should make for more consistent logs in the future. In addition, all forecast tools have now been formatted to better agree with the existing site's background color scheme. The weather conversion needed particular attention, since it was still formatted from the previous site and had the navigation menu still. I also had to move all the scripting, so if you find that the calculators or conversions are working incorrectly, please let me know.

Editted all meta-tags for each page this afternoon, as well as titles... With all files now backed up from the existing site and since much of the site is pretty much ready to roll, will go live with the new site this evening. If any broken links are found, please let me know by forwarding these "bugs" to me through E-mail. Thanks... Enjoy the new site!

Made some minor formatting changes to the new pages and added an entry in the "Recent Events / Chases" section for each page, as well as on the Chasing page from my chase last Friday (June 30th). In addition, have re-sorted the Event Archives, Chase Logs, and Chase Videos so that the most recent entries are now at the top, rather than at the bottom of each respective list. Other updates include a few changes to the information on the Contact page, an updated personal bio, and the inclusion of a link to the online Spotter Guides that I had photos published in a few years ago from David Drummond on the Miscellaneous page.

It's very early in the morning and I should be getting to bed,
considering I've been working on this new design all night. Re-designing the site is on-going... Have most pages built and formatted with the exception for those pages contained in the "About" section. I'll work on these later. I'm going to bed!

Nothing major, but did want to notify everyone that I've updated a few items on the site. If you haven't noticed, I recently changed the look of my photoBlog. I found a new template within the Pixelpost forums, so I'm going with it for the time being. Also, I've added an entry to the "Recent Events" column on the index page to include the severe weather that occurred this past Monday, June 5th across eastern portions of North Dakota. I've also updated the archives to include products from the 5th, as well as, my chase log. Radar and satellite loops also exist now within the archives from that evening. I also need to work on updating the copyright date on each page, but that will come along slowly. I have the weekend off work, so I'll try to work on updating these.
