Haven't had much to update on the site in a while, but today, I felt the need to expand the radar coverage on the Floater Product I'm now offering. Since I have the room and the bandwidth (through work) I can now upload more than just the 1° BRef, 1° Storm-Relative Velocity and VIL products, so I've expanded the number of products. If you navigate to the Radar Floater Page you will see that I've added the capabilities to view all four tilts for the BRef and SR-Velocity products, as well as, the algorithms for Echo Tops and VIL. Enjoy!

I noticed the other day that with the redesign of Meridian's web-site that the weather map I was pulling for the Index page wasn't showing up. Therefore, among a few changes tonight, I fixed the URL for the image. Among other edits, were the addition of my combined weather and chase blog to the Site Extensions, as well as adding a link to the Radar Floater to the Update Log files (this one, as well as the Archived Update Log). I noticed I had never added it to these pages. Oops! Other changes include edits to the Contacts page (I've now included information on where to find me on Facebook, as well as Twitter), and somewhat updated the Bio page. Enough for tonight on the web-site front, but I also updated the WCN with a Version Change Blog there. As always, check back on the WCN. I anticipate further work to be done on there soon. Cheers!

With the recent addition of a GPS receiver and the GRLevel3 capabilities I've added to my laptop, I've taken a short period here this afternoon to update my chase equipment lists.

Work was done today to add a new feature to the site. I recently added GRLevel3 to my local arsenal of Meteorological applications. As such, I am now publishing radar images to the web-site. Although, this won't be something that will continuously by updated, it will show areas of the country I am watching for severe weather or simply areas I have active on my workstation. The images will include base reflectivity and storm-relative velocity at a half-degree, as well as VIL (vertically integrated liquid) data. VIL data is often used to find storms that are conducive for hail production (the higher the VIL's, the higher likelihood for large hail). The images will often include overlays, indicating watches and warnings, as well as spotter/chaser locations, and surface observations. If an overlay is present and you have questions regarding it, feel free to shoot me an E-mail and I can explain what you're looking at. Enjoy the new feature!

Many updates were conducted this evening... Most importantly, I added an archive for Feb. 2nd, 2008 from the tornado outbreak across the Mid-South I had a friend of mine request some radar data, especially, so it pretty much is radar exclusive. I also made some minor changes to the overall site. I changed the "Recent Event" news-links provided on the left side-bar to feature a new title. In the near future, I think I'm going to remove this and add some sort of widget and/or new feature, so that I don't have as much material to continually update. Or not! It depends how motivated I want to remain on maintaining the site. I also updated the "Latest Events" on the Archives page to indicate the most current archives I've added. In addition, I updated the "Update Log," itself. I moved all updates from 2006 to the archived update log and made some changes to the navigation menu above. I had noticed that I hadn't updated the link to my new WeatherBlog. The Projects page was updated some to reflect the on-going work on the Weather-Cam Network. And finally, made some updates to my resume I've been aiming to do for quite some time. Phew... ready now for a shower and dinner. Hey, I'm working the midnight shift - I have an excuse!

It has been a long while since I've made any updates to the site, but today, I replaced the long aged "Radio.Blog" button on all pages to my new Media player. The player, an application powered through Flash and Project Playlist, is now featured throughout the web-site. It isn't set up beautifully in the pop-up window it opens in, but it is pretty much the only way I can link to it using a direct URL. So, if you're visiting the site and would like to hear some of my latest, favorite tunes, feel free to click on the "My Playlist" button in the bottom left-hand corner of the site to open the media player.
